We’re partnering with Gunpowder Valley Conservancy for its
2025 Explore the Gunpowder Watershed Challenge.
Visit local landmarks (like us!) and get your passport stamped;
complete 20 miles of activity on land or water at your own pace or do both!

June 21, Saturday -
Let's Bale Out! - Parachutes
As a family, view two presentations on parachutes, "A History
of Parachutes" and "Tiny Broadwick - The First Lady of Parachutes",
make a simple parachute, see an historic parachute, sit on a
parachute pack in a model of a B-26, sit in an ejection seat,
and join other families outdoors experimenting with a large
parachute, making it rise and fall.
Outdoor Workshops at 11 am and 1 pm (weather permitting)

The B-26 Assembly Team Workshop
Families working together as assembly line employees
put together part of a large-scale model of the B-26 Maurauder,
an airplane manufactured by The Glenn L. Martin Company
during WWII.

May 31, Saturday - 11 am and 1 pm
Airport Communication Workshop
Participate as a family in a workshop learning about
communications between the pilot and air traffic control.
Regular Museum admission with tour of flightline included.
August 7, Thursday - 10:30 am to 12:30 pm
Robotics Workshop
Learn beginning coding by using Edison robots to complete a programmed trail on the moon.
Advance registration required.
Fee $20 per student in grades 3 to 12, maximum 16 students, minimum 8.


August 19, Tuesday- 6 to 8 pm
National Aviation Night
Celebrate National Aviation Night and visit our flightline of 18+ aircraft
in the cool evening air
Normal Museum Admission
Adults - $8
Children under 12 - $3
Babes in arms - Free
September 27, Saturday - 11 am to 2 pm
Rain date - October 4
Open Cockpit and Car Show
Join us for our annual Open Cockpit and Car Show. You will ride a bus
about 1 mile to see our 18 aircraft and the car show on Martin State
Airport. See inside many of the planes, tour the Martin 404 airliner and
see the fabulous collection of unique cars.
Admission to the Museum is included.
Admission - $10 - Adults
$5 - Children under 12
Babes in arms - Free
Food trucks will be available for lunch.

October 18, Saturday - 11 am and 1 pm
It's Rocket Science
As a family, participate in a mini workshop on rocket history
and the parts of a rocket. Assemble a paper rocket and launch it
from a tube powered by an air compressor.

November 29, Saturday - 11 am
Santa Flies into Martin State Airport
Watch as Santa lands at the airport! Santa will greet
families along the fence line and will travel to the Museum
where he will speak with each child. Santa will be at the
Museum from 11:30 am to 3 pm.
As a family enjoy a photo opportunity with Santa.


November 29, Saturday - 10:30 am
The Holiday Plane and Train Garden Opens
The Holiday Plane and Train Garden features 5 trains and many
volunteer made local buildings which have been built to an exact
scale! The garden will be open on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays
and Sundays from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm until Sunday, January 4.
December 7, Sunday - 10:30 am to 3:30 pm
Wreaths Across America Mobile Unit
Wreaths Across America (WAA) is the organization most recognized for placing over three million veterans’ wreaths at locations nationally and abroad on National Wreaths Across America Day. Their mobile exhibit unit will be free and open to the public outside the Museum as part of the Museum's observance of Pearl Harbor Day.
