UH-1M

Built in 1967 as the C model, our Huey is a Vietnam Veteran.  Its first tour was for reconnaissance. After being upgraded to the M model, a dedicated gunship, it returned to Vietnam and flew 1305 missions from September 1969 to December 1971.  It was still being used for training in 1985.  It went to the Vietnam Veterans of American Post 451 in 1994, and was acquired by the museum in August 2014.  Other than 3 weeks indoors in January 2015, much of the 2,100 hours of restoration was completed on the flight line, and finished in April 2016.
