Something for everyone

Prominent speakers cover a wide range of aviation and space topics of broad interest.
The meetings, which begin at 7 p.m., are FREE and open to the public. You must present a photo ID. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

January 5: Professor Jack Breihan talks about Rosie the Riveter memorial on the West Coast and how one is needed here.
February 2: Educator, engineer and former astronaut Don Thomas recounts a Shuttle mission in his book Orbit of Discovery.
March 2: Author Amy Nathan explores the world of women pilots in World War II. CANCELLED BECAUSE OF WEATHER.
April 6: Vince Gisriel Jr. talks about the long-distance WWII romance of his parents detailed in his book Hearts Away, Bombs Away.
May 4: Rick Beyer reveals the secrets of the Ghost Army that fooled the Nazis.
June 1: Ellis Woodward reads from the memoir of his father, a World War II pilot.
July 6: Archivist Stan Piet shows slides from airshows he has attended.
August 3: Tom Jones will talk about “Martin’s B-26B Flak Bait: Resurrecting a Magnificent Marauder.” Tom highlights restoration of the aircraft and veteran accounts he researched.
September 14: Author Jon Guttman recounts the importance of aircraft in WWII.
October 5: Historian Roger Miller explores the story of the WWII raid on Ploesti oil fields.
